Overcoming Shame from Your Past

How Jesus redeems our mistakes and gives us a new identity.
One of the hardest things about overcoming shame is the fear of being judged. Even when you know Jesus has given you a new life, people can still see you through the lens of your past. And that hurts. It makes you want to hide the parts of your story that Jesus already redeemed.
I’ve wrestled with this, especially because I didn’t grow up in a Christian background. I felt ashamed to share my past with other believers. I worried, What will they think of me? Will they still accept me? But over time, God showed me that hiding my story wasn’t helping anyone—including myself.
What I’ve learned is this: your past becomes your testimony. It’s not something to be ashamed of—it’s a picture of who you were before Jesus and how He gave you a brand new identity. Your past doesn't disqualify you—it proves God's power to transform. And when you share that transformation, it gives hope to someone else who might feel too far gone.
In Christ, you are not defined by what you've done—you are defined by what He did for you. Your story matters. Don’t be afraid to tell it. 🤍
Romans 8:1 29:11 – “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
2 Corinthians 5:17 - "This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
